Jaguar F-Pace named 2016 Women’s Car of the Year

Jaguar's F-Pace was named "Supreme Winner" at the 2016 Women's World Car of the Year Awards, while also achieving SUV/Crossover of the Year in the same competition, just two of the latest in a long line of awards the F-Pace has garnered since going on sale last April.

"The awards of 'Supreme Winner' and 'Best SUV/Crossover' in the 2016 Women's Car of the Year Awards is a great achievement and a true highlight in the continuing F-Pace success story," said Fiona Pargeter, Head of Global PR Communications, Jaguar Land Rover. "The combination of beautiful design, everyday usability and unrivaled driving experience set the F-Pace apart from the competition and is attracting new customers to the Jaguar brand worldwide."

The Women's World Car of the Year is the only automotive award decided entirely by women, comprised of 17 judges from 14 countries around the world. The award's judges submit their personal shortlists, this year resulting in 294 nominated vehicles. After compiling Read Full Story

New Bentley Continental Supersports achieves world’s fastest four-seater status

Ask those in the know about their favourite luxury sports coupe or convertible and Bentley's Continental often gets named, not only for its beautiful lines and luxurious interior, but also its superb driving dynamics.

Whether equipped with its base 500 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 good for 4.8 seconds from standstill to 100km/h and a 305 km/h (190 mph) top speed, the 520 horsepower version of the same engine found in the V8 S that's capable of a 4.5-second sprint to 100km/h and 309 km/h (192 mph) terminal velocity, the 582 horsepower twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12-powered GT that achieves identical straight-line performance albeit a higher top speed of 319 km/h (198 mph), or the 633 horsepower version of that more potent W12 that's capable of 4.1 seconds to 100km/h and a 332-km/h (206-mph) top speed, it's a four-seat sport luxury coupe that few rivals come close to matching.

Rather than give those challengers opportunity to catch up, Bentley now offers Read Full Story

Subaru Canada achieves best sales ever

Beating sales records is nothing new at Subaru Canada, the calendar year 2016 resulting in its fifth consecutive best-ever deliveries with 50,190 units down the road. A best ever December, up 9.8 percent from 12 months prior, helped push Subaru over the top, the final tally representing a 7.7-percent gain over last year's total of 46,609 units.

"Once again Subaru Canada has exceeded expectations to set a fifth consecutive annual sales record," said Shiro Ohta, Chairman, President and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "These sales records are a direct result of the quality vehicles, parts and accessories as well as the excellent service we continue to provide our customers. We look forward to setting new benchmarks for 2017."

The Forester compact SUV, this year's winner of the Automobile Journalist Association of Canada's (AJAC) "Best New Small Utility Vehicle" led the way with 1,202 sales in December, which showed growth of 12.7 percent over December of 2015, and 13,798 Read Full Story

Acura MDX earns Top Safety Pick Plus rating for fourth year in a row

It should hardly come as a surprise to hear that Acura's recently updated 2017 MDX received the highest possible safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), as the MDX earned Top Safety Pick Plus status for its three previous years.

If it was an easy feat then all of the MDX' competitors would have done likewise, but only two of its 16 mid-size rivals measured up, the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Lexus RX. That makes the MDX one of Canada's safest luxury SUVs, while the smaller RDX utility also achieved a Top Safety Pick Plus rating, and Acura's ILX compact sedan and flagship RLX luxury sedan managed Top Safety Pick ratings.

The impressive IIHS safety score came thanks to the Japanese brand's advanced AcuraWatch suite of active safety and driver-assistive technologies that comes standard with every 2017 MDX and RDX model. AcuraWatch includes Collision Mitigation Braking with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Read Full Story
