Buying a 2011 Nissan Versa, and saving $5000 off of MSRP.
The Wholesale Price Report set a floor on the negotiation. However, the dealers would not budge much on dealer-added costs. For example, multiple-brand dealerships add from $400-$800 in what used to be called "administration fees", and they would not negotiate those. Also some dealer-added options "could not be removed". I dealt with Vickar Nissan because we did the deal over the phone in ~30 minutes. Crown Nissan obfuscated for days. Birchwood Nissan was up front but the most expensive of the three dealerships ($800 admin fee).
