I used the report to help a friend who pruchased the Subaru. There was not much room for negociation since the vehicule is in much demand. He felt that having the report in hand gave him room to bargain an extra 300-400$ than what he would have had otherwise.

Knowing the wholesale price, I calculated the max I was willing to pay. I found Subaru to be not very negotiable. They removed $500 off retail price ( promo they were offering ), and after tough negotiations removed an extra $200. At this point we were $300 apart from what we were offering and they were asking. We got up and left. We then called another dealer "John Scotti Subaru" and he said he would never have let us walk out with a difference of $300. Off to John Scotti we went, “to waist our time", all he could do was $50 better. On our way home we called our original dealer Subaru de laval and offer him $100 less than our last visit, and he accepted. In the end I paid 4% over the wholesale price.

Buying a 2012 Subaru Legacy, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
We visited 3 dealerships in our area and felt at ease with the one we bought the car from. The salesperson was not pushy and she did her best to accomodate our demands, At the end of the negotiations, we presented our Car Cost Canada wholesale report and we were able to knock off another 250$ from the negotiated price. In all we saved around 1250$ from the MSRP.
