Wayne from Saskatoon, SK reported on Thursday, March 19, 2009, buying a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP.
By being well prepared the dealer knew I was not kicking tires and I made that clear up front. This is the 2nd vehicle I have used the report with and I am extremely satisfied. The dealer still made money, however I left feeling good about the transaction and never questioned what I ended up paying. It did make me realize that when buying my previous vehicle (that I bought without the report), I was completely overcharged. I can't blame any one for that though. It made me change dealers also.

I owned a 2002 Chev Malibu and I liked it and it was the same dealer.I did not mention your Wholesale Price Report, but was going to use it as a bargaining tool if the final price was going to be higher. This gave me more confidence to strike a good deal.

Make sure you take a print out of the report with you, makes negotiations pretty simple.

Ken from Easley, SK reported on Monday, June 07, 2010, buying a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and saving $7,000 off of MSRP.
Pretty Simple, just take the car cost sheet in and pass it over and see how close they can come to the wholesale price.

Greg from Saskatoon, SK reported on Friday, August 29, 2008, buying a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP.
I chose the Silverado because I felt that GM has made a better truck now compared to any truck from a domestic automaker. I also don't think that the imports have that much of a better made vehicle to justify the increase cost for them. Also, the timing is right for the domestic automakers to give great deals off MRSP (manufacturer rebates). Domestic dealers also seem to have greater flexibility for negotiating prices. I chose SMP because of references by friends that they have a friendly staff. I also did not hear of any problems or annoyances with taking vehicles in for service. When we started to get down to negotiations, I showed the sales rep the Wholesale Price Report of the truck, including the options that I selected. I believe that this shows that I was serious about buying the vehicle and that I was aware of the negotiating room that he had. He accepted my price. In hindsight, I believe I could have taken another 1% off the markup but overall I am happy with the transaction. The Wholesale Price report really is a confidence booster when going into negotiations!
