The dealer invoice helped a bit in the negotiations; however, the leverage point was not all that significant as expected. The dealer knew I had invoice cost but given that the markup on Audi''s is above other car manufacturers and the demand for A4s is very robust it did not make a big difference. As far as the dealer choice is concerned there is no real choice in Montreal. The Gabriel group owns the 2 largest Audi dealerships. There are others but not in my area. Still the dealer experience was mediocre. I bought 2 cars the new and the lease buy-out and ended up doing most of the leg work for the lease buy-out. The staff seems friendly but not very effective.Think there is a value proposition to improve the client experience as they purchase/lease a new car. The invoice is an important part of the equation but not the end all. To achieve the leverage necessary for a good deal there are other elements the buyer/leaser needs to deal with. For example what is the quality of the deal the leaser is getting, based on price, residual, and money factor when combined that affect the lease cost? This is primarily the reason I bought the car when I examined those factors put together. It did not make sense to lease a car with 67% depreciation at the end of the lease. May as well buy it. |  | |
