Buying a 2011 Kia Sorento, and saving $4000 off of MSRP.
When we finally narrowed down our choice of vehicle I worked out the price I wanted to pay and started phoning dealers to ask for their best price. I ended up with dealers calling me to try and better another dealers price. In the end it came down to three dealers and I finally chose Eastside as I had been referred to the manager by his wife and they had the colour I wanted. We could have saved a few hundred dollars by going for a black vehicle at another dealer, but I thought the difference might be made up later with good customer relations. It ended up being quite an exciting process and we would definitely not have got the price we did without the Car Cost information. I even had a dealer willing to pay our hotel bill and transport the vehicle down from Edmonton to Calgary. After our purchase I contacted them and they said they would have been willing to give us a lower price too. But we are happy with our final decision. We might have been willing to travel to Edmonton if we had received their final price before leaving the house. Although I didn't enjoy having to make phonecalls to tell dealers we were going elsewhere, the whole process was so much easier than walking straight into a dealer and having to deal with sales reps. The advice on dealing directly with the managers is the best I can give and letting them know that you are a member of Car Cost. It's amazing how you are treated like a VIP. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't buy a car this way. It's almost like shopping for a car from the comfort of your own home. I will definitely recommend Car Cost to all my friends.
