| Shingchi from Kanata, ON reported on Friday, September 24, 2010, buying a 2010 Infiniti EX35, and saving $7,000 off of MSRP. The carcost report has been very useful for my price negotiation. Your report is very detailed. | ![]() | |
| Francois from Ottawa, ON reported on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, buying a 2010 Infiniti EX35, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP. They accepted readilly the CCC report, the numbers were almost the same (their were a little higher by a few 100$ but only on the packages). They open their book, and we arrived to a final number rather easily. They were a little lower on the trade in (which I negotiated after negotiting the price of the car -- perhaps a mistake). I might have done the opposite: negotiate the price of the trade in and the the purchase price of the car.. | ![]() | |
| Norman from Ottawa, ON reported on Wednesday, September 09, 2009, buying a 2009 Infiniti EX35, and saving $9,000 off of MSRP. I was armed with all of the information necessary to know exactly how much I was willing to have the Dealer make from the sale. The first dealer I dealt with said that they wanted to make more than what I was offering so I went to 417 Nissan and they were willing to play ball. That means a lot to me and I will go to this dealer the next time I buy a new car. The sales rep - Ziyad - is also a good guy and I didn't get any BS from him. | ![]() | |
| Kristine from Ottawa, ON reported on Friday, May 02, 2008, buying a 2008 Infiniti EX35, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP. Don't talk prices with the dealer until you've determined EXACTLY which vehicle, model and options you want. When you are ready to talk price, have your Wholesale Price Report on-hand. Be prepared to walk away and either continue another day, or with another dealer. Remember - they sell more cars in a week than you'll buy in a lifetime, so who's better practiced at this? Tell the new car dealer up front that you will need them to do a "convenience deal" for you, at no cost. This allows you to "trade in" your vehicle, then have a private buyer purchase it from the dealer at a previously agreed-upon price, thereby saving you the tax on that amount. (Yes, the buyer of your used vehicle will have to pay GST, but disclose this early on and negotiate this into the sale price of your used vehicle.) | ![]() | |

| Louis from Ottawa, ON reported on Tuesday, February 07, 2012, buying a 2012 Infiniti G37 Sedan, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP. Once you know the cost, bid low and come in about 3% over invoice. Be firm and patient, also shop around but for best long term service stay close to home if you can. | ![]() | |

| Robert from Ottawa, ON reported on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, buying a 2012 Infiniti M56, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP. I initially chose this dealer for convenience as it is close to my home. Based on this, I bought my previous car there and my wife bought hers there also. Their service department has treated us well, so this is why we have continued to buy from this dealership. They were initially not impressed with the fact that I was using the Wholesale Price Report, but when I mentioned that it would be honored by The Tony Graham dealership and that would be my next stop, they became more interested in discussing my price. The Wholesale Price Report information was useful to a certain extent and I believe I received a fair price in terms of the leased vehicle amount, as it resulted in a markup of about 3.8%, which is well within your suggested parameters. However, my decision to lease clouded the situation, because the lease monthly payments seem much higher than what I assumed they would be and it seemed impossible to gain complete visibility into that process. Their explanation is that the lease finance charge is based on the cost of the entire car and not only on the capitalized amount. A better understanding on my part of the finance charge calculation process would have been useful. Thanks for your help. | ![]() | |
